On behalf of the Farmington City Council, I welcome you to the great City of Farmington, a wonderful place for families to live, work and play.
Farmington has much to offer residents and visitors. Our neighborhoods are historic, walkable, safe and friendly. Our downtown business district, theater, public library, city hall, parks, restaurants, shopping and museums are connected with our neighborhoods and within walking distance of each other.
In Farmington we have maintained our historic charm with iconic assets such as the Governor Warner Mansion on Grand River Ave. We are also investing in the future of our community with a strong capital projects program. New streetscapes have invigorated our downtown business district. We are one of the only communities in south east Michigan with an outdoor winter ice rink, which is conveniently located in Downtown Farmington’s Riley Park. We recently completed our 2013 Visioning Plan for the future.
These types of successes resulted in our being ranked 27th in the 2013 CNN/Money Magazine Best Places to Live – America’s Small Towns. We are proud to say Farmington, MI was the only small town from Michigan to make this list.
This website provides much information on our community. However, should you need more information or have a desire to get involved on one of our volunteer boards and commissions please feel free to contact our staff directly.
Thank you for visiting the City of Farmington.
Bill Galvin, Mayor
