Charter Review Committee

The Farmington City Council established the Charter Review Committee in 2005 and charged it with reviewing the charter for sections that are obsolete, are in conflict with current statutes and case law, and need updating to reflect best practices. The Charter Review Committee recommends changes to the City Charter with specific language that is submitted to the City Council and Attorney General’s Office for consideration. The City Council then adopts a resolution with the proposed changes to charter and schedules for an upcoming election.
