Farmington City sidewalk project underway
The City of Farmington Public Services has initiated work on some neighborhood sidewalks that are in need of repair.
Work began on Thursday to repair walks in the Farmington Oaks and Farmington Meadows subdivisions including the east side of Farmington Road from Eight Mile to Nine Mile. After that area is complete, crews will move over to the Floral Park neighborhood to include the east side of Orchard Lake Road from Astor to Fink street, as well as all of Violet and Lilac streets.
Sidewalks meeting replacement criteria will be removed and replaced along designated areas. It is expected that it will take about three weeks, weather permitting, to complete this work. No road closures are anticipated to perform the work for this project.
Project officials ask that children and pets be kept away from the construction operation. Construction activities, and the associated equipment that goes with it, is attractive to small children and can be dangerous. Please keep children away from the equipment and wet concrete.
Updated information will be handed out and attached to the front doors of those affected as necessary.
