MDOT to host Grand River Avenue project meeting in Farmington on April 12
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting to provide an overview of the upcoming Old I-96 (Grand River Avenue) resurfacing project in the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills. This open house-style meeting will feature exhibits displaying project locations, types of work, and detours. Interested parties will have the opportunity to meet the construction team and learn details about the project, including schedule and detours.

MDOT is investing $3.9 million to resurface 4.5 miles of Grand River Avenue from west of M-5 to west of Middlebelt Road in the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills. The project is expected to begin later this month and be finished in October.
Work includes concrete and asphalt patching, milling and asphalt resurfacing, sidewalk ramp reconstruction, and drainage improvements. In addition, the four-lane section between Shiawassee Street and Farmington Road will be restriped to a three-lane section, with a bike lane.
