Technical Career Night November 7 at Costick Center

The Farmington Hills/Farmington Commission on Children, Youth & Families invites high school students, parents, veterans, and career-changers to explore alternatives to a four-year college degree at a special Technical Career Night on Wednesday, November 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Costick Center, located at 28600 Eleven Mile Road.

The event will feature electricians, HVAC professionals, plumbers, and representatives from the automotive and environmental sectors, who will share their career success stories.  Representatives from Farmington Public Schools, Oakland Schools Technical Campuses, and Oakland Community College will offer details on how technical training can provide an alternative path to further education and job satisfaction.  For high school sophomores and juniors, help will be available with choosing classes to help prepare for a technical career. Technical backgrounds are currently in very high demand.

Coffee and snacks will be provided.  There is no residency requirement for participants and registration is not necessary.  For more information, contact Ed Cherkinsky at 248-661-5114 or echerkinsk@aol.com.
