Governor Warner Museum
The City Clerk’s Department provides general direction and oversight to the Governor Warner Museum. Reservations for weddings, commercial photography, special events, large tours and self-catered porch parties are taken by the Clerk’s office.
The Museum hosts a number of events throughout the year including: porch parties, annual fashion show, Founders Festival activities, Ghost Walk and annual Jaycee Tree lighting.
Volunteers are always needed at the Museum to serve as docents, gardeners, and assist in any or all of the events hosted on the grounds.
Please call the Clerk’s Office at 248-474-5500 ext. 2225 for more information on serving as a volunteer or making reservations for your next special event.
The Museum is located at 33805 Grand River Avenue one block west of Farmington Road. It is open 1-5 PM on the first Sunday of the month and every Wednesday April through December.
- The fee for weddings on the grounds/gazebo is $300.00 for non-residents and $250.00 for Farmington/Farmington Hills residents. This is for a 2 ½ hour period. Fee to be paid in advance and is non-refundable.
- Seating on the inner perimeter of the Gazebo will accommodate 25/30. Additional chairs may be used, these to be supplied by the wedding party. While the lawn will accommodate many attendees, parking space is limited in the immediate area so that this becomes a limiting factor as to the size of the occasion.
- Amplified music is not permitted. Small ensembles or electronic keyboards may be utilized with the consideration for the adjacent residents. Electrical outlets are available at the Gazebo, located under seats on either side of the Gazebo and located on the back side of the Gazebo.
- Decorations may be placed, but nails, tacks, staples and adhesive materials are prohibited as well as any other material that may damage any Gazebo surface. All decorations to be removed at the conclusion of the ceremony.
- There shall be no use of confetti or rice on the Mansion grounds.
- There shall be no use of alcoholic beverages on the Mansion grounds.
- There shall be no vehicles on the lawn.
- Parking is available in the adjoining church parking lot. Parking at the Mansion shall be limited so that the driveway is not blocked. Shuttle service may by utilized from more remote parking locations. Arrangements should be coordinated as needed.
- There is no alternative arrangement in the event of inclement weather except that the Mansion porch may be used. The Mansion itself will not be opened.
- A two and a half hour period will be allocated for each wedding (i.e., if the wedding is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. a period to total 2 ½ hours will be reserved).
- Scheduled events will be posted at the rear portion of the Mansion and on the sign at the entrance. Scheduled events will have preference over non-scheduled events.
- A unisex handicap accessible restroom is available for garden events (west side of main building).
