Electronics Recycling Program Now Accepts More

The Resource Recovery and Recycling Authority of Southwest Oakland County (RRRASOC) has teamed up with Vintage Tech Recyclers, LLC to provide electronics recycling to local residents and businesses. The electronics drop-offs are located at:
- RRRASOC Southfield Drop-off
20000 West Eight Mile Rd, in Southfield
Hours: 24/7
- Wixom Department of Public Works
2041 Charms Rd, in Wixom
Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm
The drop-offs are self-serve and open to the public.
Acceptable items include: computers, laptops, monitors, printers, copiers, cables, keyboards, mice, computer parts, televisions, DVD players, VCRs, satellite dishes, cable boxes, game systems, handheld electronics, MP3 players, cash registers, typewriters, fax machines, phones, stereos, mixers, blenders, coffee makers, bread makers, fryers, microwaves, toaster ovens, electric knives, shaving equipment, electric toothbrushes, hair cutters, hair dryers, clocks, heaters, fans, batterypowered tools, vacuum cleaners (no bags), irons, radios, VHS tapes, cameras, remotes, and holiday light strings.
Based out of Romeoville, IL, Vintage Tech is working on opening a Detroit-area facility that is estimated to create about fifty new jobs.
At Your Door Service
RRRASOC residents (those who live in Farmington, Farmington Hills, Novi, Southfield, South Lyon, Walled Lake, and Wixom) may call the RRRASOC offices at (248) 208-2270 to learn about the new “At Your Door” program, which offers free electronics pick-up. The workers cannot go inside the home, but will pick up electronics waste from a porch or outside the garage door.
