To the Qualified Electors of the City of Farmington, County of Oakland:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a City General Election will be held in:
City of Farmington
County of Oakland, State of Michigan
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2015
THE POLLS will be open 7 o’clock a.m. until 8 o’clock p.m.
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING CANDIDATES FOR THE FOLLOWING OFFICE:
FARMINGTON CITY COUNCIL
Two four-year terms
One two-year term
AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING ON THE FOLLOWING PROPOSALS:
CHARTER AMENDMENT PROPOSAL 1
Shall Section 4.3 of the Farmington City Charter, which currently provides that the Mayor and Councilmembers are paid One Thousand Eight Hundred and 00/100 ($1,800.00) Dollars per year, be amended to provide that the Mayor and Councilmembers shall be paid Three Thousand and 00/100 ($3,000.00) Dollars per year, with a corresponding deletion of the provision in Section 5.5 of the Charter stating that the salary of an elected official shall not be changed from the time the official is elected until the end of the official's term of office?
FARMINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL
This proposal would allow the renewal of the mills previously levied by the Board of Education of the Farmington Public School District for general operating purposes which expires with the District’s 2015 tax levy. Under this proposal, the District would be authorized to levy no more than 13.5735 mills on principal residences (owner-occupied homes), and the School District would receive revenues at the full foundation allowance permitted by the State.
As a renewal of the authority which expires with the 2015 tax levy, shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed on taxable property in the Farmington Public School District, County of Oakland, Michigan be increased by 18.00 mills ($18.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) to the extent such property is not statutorily exempt, and of which not more than 13.5735 mills ($13.5735 per $1,000 of taxable value) may be imposed on principal residences, for ten (10) years, the years 2016 to 2025, inclusive, to provide funds for operating expenses of the School District? If approved, this millage would raise an estimated $40,598,398 for the District in 2016.

INFORMATION ON OBTAINING AN ABSENT VOTER BALLOT FOR THE ELECTION
Persons wishing to obtain an absentee ballot may do so by contacting the City of Farmington Clerk’s Office. The Clerk’s Office will be open on the Saturday preceding the election, October 31, 2015, from 8:30am to 2:00pm, the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot which will be mailed.
