City of Farmington seeks DDA board member

The City of Farmington is looking to fill a vacancy on its Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors.

The Farmington Downtown Development Authority (DDA) strives to ensure Farmington offers a vibrant and economically sound business district while retaining its small-town historic charm. Examples of initiatives include capital projects such as streetscapes and development partnerships, and cultural programs such as concerts, public arts, and events. The DDA also focuses on business recruitment, development, and support. To help businesses during the pandemic, the DDA organized and lead the effort to create The Syndicate – Downtown Farmington’s new social district. Downtown Farmington is a Select Level Main Street Oakland County community.

The Board of Directors meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m.  Board members serve a 4-year term. Applicants for the position must have an interest in property in the downtown district. This vacated term expires on Feb. 28, 2022.

Those interested should complete a Board and Commission Application: (https://www.farmgov.com/City-Services/Forms-and-Permits/Government/Application_BoardsCommissionsCommittees.aspx)
