Long-time Mansion volunteer Jean Schornick to be missed

The City of Farmington has lost one of its beloved Governor Warner Mansion advocates.
Jean Schornick passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 15, 2022, but Farmington residents continue to benefit from her legacy.
In 2016, Jean received the Farmington Historical Commission’s Dick Carvell Award, which recognizes a historic-minded community member who has demonstrates exceptional commitment to the preservation of Farmington history.
Jean was dedicated volunteer at the Governor Warner Mansion for more than 20 years.  While she liked to dress up in Victorian outfits as a docent, she also spearheaded many of the Mansion events intended for community enjoyment, education, and fund raising. Many of the Mansion’s achievements were due to Jean’s hard work and dedication.  Jean was the volunteer coordinator for the Mansion; she was such a gracious and caring person people were drawn to help with her events.
